What is your Refund Policy?
It's simple: satisfaction or your money back (or, a shipment of lobsters on us.) Our customers are important to us, and our reputation for delivering a quality product depends on your satisfaction.

What is your Cancellation Policy?
You may cancel your order up until the time we ship it; which is typically 3:30 - 4:00 PM EST. Once the lobsters have been shipped, the order cannot be cancelled. Cancelled orders may either be rescheduled for future delivery, issued as a Gift Certificate for face value, or refunded at your request.

My lobsters just arrived! Now what?
Inspect the package before opening to make sure there is no leaking or damage to the packaging. Next, open the box and inspect the lobsters: they should be cool and damp, and react to being handled. If they are droopy and show little activity, they have tired during the trip and need to be cooked that day. If the lobsters are warm to the touch, refuse the shipment and call Jim's at (207) 837-7071.
Do not put the lobsters in the sink (or the tub) in an attempt to keep them in water! This will actually drown the lobsters, their gills will stop functioning and their bodies will shut down.
We recommend you cook and eat your lobsters shortly after their arrival. If you plan to eat them that evening, just leave them in the box; making sure to keep the inside of the box cold and damp and the original packaging intact.

How are the lobsters packaged?
We take great care in keeping your lobsters cool and comfortable while they're in transit. They're packed in specially insulated styrofoam boxes, nestled in seaweed to keep them damp and moist; and packed with reusable gel-ice packs to keep them cold.

Why are your prices so low?
You may have noticed our prices are the best on the internet - in fact, our prices are usually as good as (or better than) your local fish market or grocery store.
Thre are two reasons we are able to keep our prices so low. First, we ship directly from our boat - the lobsters leave the wharf on either a FedEx or UPS truck to your destination. Most of our competitors have holding tanks or other "midway" facilities that are costly to operate and maintain. We're a small, family owned company: We only sell lobsters, and our "boat-to-door" philosophy allows you to get the freshest lobsters (right out of the water!) without costly overhead built into the price.
Second, we allow you to choose your shipper and time of arrival based on 6 real-time shipping quotes. By using technology to your benefit, you're always able to get the best price to your destination; and you'll always be able to choose when your lobsters will arrive. Beware of competitors that "include shipping" in their prices - estimated shipping costs are almost always to thier benefit, and you won't have the luxury of choosing a time of day for your lobsters' arrival.

Will I receive a Tracking ID for my delivery?
Yes. We can send your Tracking ID to your E-Mail address after your package ships. Alternatively, you can call us at (207) 837-7071 and we'll give it to you over the phone.

What time will I receive my package?
UPS provides three service levels for next day delivery; choose from:
- Next Day Air Saver for delivery anytime next day, typically by ~ 5:30 PM (least expensive)
- Next Day Air for delivery by 10:30 AM (more expensive)
- Next Day Early AM for delivery by 8:30 AM (most expensive)

What if there is a problem with the shipper and I don't receive my lobsters?
All our shipments are insured for the value of the order. If your lobsters don't arrive on time, arrive damaged, or are lost during shipment, we'll work with the carrier to get a refund and send you a new shipment immediately. See our Refund Policy for more information.
